FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II has signed midfielder Trevor Zwetsloot to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract, pending league and federation approval, and receipt of his ITC.
Zwetsloot, 22, joins the Revolution from the Melbourne Knights of Australia’s National Premier League, where he made four appearances and recorded 295 minutes during the 2020-21 season. The defensive midfielder previously spent time in Germany with SV Werder Bremen, where he made 11 appearances with the Under-19 team and one with Werder Bremen II. Prior to signing with Werder Bremen, Zwetsloot developed at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
A New Zealand native, Zwetsloot represented his country at the Under-20 level, earning seven caps with one goal. Most notably, he appeared in five games enroute to winning the 2018 Oceania Football Confederation U-19 Championship, scoring the game-winning goal in the final.
With the addition of Zwetsloot, the Revolution II roster stands at 16 professional players entering the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season in 2022.
