SANDY, Utah (September 26, 2026) –  The New England Revolution signed forward Makai Wells and midfielder Javaun Mussenden to Short-Term Agreements on Saturday, making the Revolution II duo available for selection in tonight's MLS match at Real Salt Lake. Wells, 17, signed an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract with Revolution II last month. In a standout 2026 campaign for Revolution II, the teenager has started 16 of his 17 appearances, netting one goal and two assists. A Revolution Academy product, Wells recorded an assist in Revolution II's 3-1 victory at Toronto FC II on Sept. 20, helping New England's developmental side clinch a berth in the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro playoffs. Wells also featured for the Revolution Academy's Under-18 team during the 2025-2026 MLS NEXT season, tallying one goal and one assist. Tonight's match in Utah marks Wells' first appearance on the Revolution's MLS matchday roster.
Mussenden, 19, also features on New England's matchday roster for the first time. He has been a mainstay for Revolution II during the last two seasons. The 2024-2025 Revolution Academy Player of the Year owns 48 games played in MLS NEXT Pro, 37 of them starts. In 2026, Mussenden has logged two goals and four assists over 22 appearances for Revolution II, including the winning tally in the season finale at Toronto FC II. At the international level, Mussenden has represented the United States at the Under-19 and Under-20 levels, competing at the CONCACAF U-20 Championships this past summer.
