The New England Revolution earned another dramatic win at Gillette Stadium, defeating Red Bull New York 3-2 on Wednesday night to secure homefield advantage in Round One of the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs. Dor Turgeman’s brace and Carles Gil’s record-setting assist earned both players spots on the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 33 presented by Audi.

Turgeman got the night kicked off early, curling a ninth-minute rocket past RBNY goalkeeper Ethan Horvath. Assisted by Gil, the helper placed the midfield maestro in rarified air, becoming just the eighth player in MLS history to reach 100 career assists.

The milestone further underscored Gil’s importance to the Revolution, particularly this season. The league leader with 91 key passes, he also paced New England with 65 passes on Wednesday, controlling the match from the midfield.

After entering halftime ahead by one, the Revs quickly doubled their lead with another goal by Turgeman in the 46th minute. The two-goal night marked his second brace of the season and gave him five goals in the last four matches. Turgeman’s goal count trails behind just that of Gil’s, with 12 goals to the Spaniard’s 13.

“We talk a lot about Dor, how much he's improving and growing. I would say it connected with our team, and then what we want to do as a team. Same with Carles, I'm always happy when players get rewarded with goals for doing the right things on the field,” explained head coach Marko Mitrović after the match. “We see that the outcome is better and better from Dor. But I still think, and something that I said at the very beginning before the season started, is that he has a high ceiling, and we still have a lot of work to do to get Dor where he can really connect with his potential.”

Although the Revs surrendered a two-goal lead to New York, they refused to walk away without all three points. Dániel Gazdag was the difference maker, finding the match winner in the 83rd minute to log his second goal in a Revolution jersey. The victory marked New England’s 18th of the year, the club’s second-most wins in a single season.

Sitting second in the Eastern Conference table, the Revs will welcome Inter Miami CF to Gillette Stadium on Sunday night for the final home match of the regular season. Trailing New England by just two points in the standings, the home finale is sure to be an exciting test ahead of the postseason campaign.
