FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution midfielder Kelyn Rowe’s first-half goal against Toronto FC last Saturday is one of the five nominees for the MLS Goal of the Week for Week 25. Rowe’s goal on Saturday was his second of the season and his second to be nominated for goal of the week.
With the Revs already leading 1-0 in the 21st minute, Rowe sent a dipping right-footed shot into the net from almost 30 yards out, doubling New England’s lead and helping the club claim a 3-0 road victory. Goal of the week voting is open now at MLSsoccer.com and will continue through Thursday evening.

Rowe began and finished the quick attacking move that culminated in the club’s second goal of the game, intercepting an errant pass from a Toronto FC defender near midfield. Rowe quickly played the ball forward to the feet of Lee Nguyen, who returned the pass back to the onrushing Rowe. He then skipped past the challenge of Michael Bradley and found himself alone in space. With a free look at goal, he fired a dipping, right-footed shot from 30 yards out, past Toronto goalkeeper Joe Bendik, pushing the score to 2-0.
