FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy teams endured a mixed weekend against Everton FC Westchester, going 1-1-1 on Saturday, September 26 at SUNY Purchase in New York. The Under-18s suffered their second consecutive defeat, falling 3-1 to Everton before the Under-16s earned a 4-0 victory to push their shutout streak to five games. The Under-14s closed out the day, playing to a 0-0 tie with Everton, before taking on Empire United in a friendly the following day, where they claimed a 4-1 win.
UNDER-18s
The Under-18s suffered their second consecutive defeat with a 3-1 loss to Everton FC Westchester on Saturday. The Revs came out strong and took the lead in the 13th minute through Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.). After receiving a pass from Isaac Angking (Providence, R.I.) just outside the area, Rennicks dribbled past his man and clipped a finish over the onrushing goalkeeper for his second goal of the season to make the score 1-0.
Everton FC Westchester responded quickly, scoring two goals before the halftime break. After Abdul Byabusha equalized in the 22nd minute, Dantae Greer gave his side the lead four minutes later, sending Everton into the halftime break with a 2-1 lead.
Despite controlling most of the play and outshooting their opponent 14-9, the Revs fell further behind in the 69th minute when Greer notched his second goal of the game to make the final score 3-1. The U-18s were forced to finish the game down a man after central defender Calvin Aroh (Glastonbury, Conn.) suffered a facial injury late on with his side having already used all of their available outfield substitutes.

UNDER-16s
The Under-16s continued their unbeaten start to the 2015-16 season, claiming a 4-0 victory over Everton FC Westchester in a clinical display on Saturday. Five of the Revs’ seven shots in the game were on target, with the U-16s finding the net on four occasions, including three times in the second half. The U-16s took the lead just before the halftime break, when Gustavo Cassemiro (Framingham, Mass.) scored his second goal of the season. After receiving a throw in, Gabriel Meireles (Everett, Mass.) beat the Everton left back and hit a low ball across the face of goal that Cassemiro tapped into the back of the net, making the score 1-0 in the 38th minute.
The Revs doubled their lead in the 50th minute when a corner kick from Tyler Freitas (North Attleborough, Mass.) bounced around the Everton area before falling to Laz Dorogi (West Boylston, Mass.). Dorogi then hit a powerful shot past the Everton goalkeeper for his first goal of the season. Ten minutes later, Kevin Vang (Cranston, R.I.) played a cross into the Everton area that caused a goalmouth scramble with the ball eventually falling to Meireles, who finished into the corner for his team-leading third goal of the season, making the score 3-0.
The Revs rounded out the scoring in the 76th minute, when Meireles dribbled down the right and crossed for Cassemiro, whose shot was saved, only for Connor Haskell (Medfield, Mass.) to follow up and tuck away the rebound, making the final score 4-0. In goal, Eddie Walsh (Westwood, Mass.) made four saves as the U-16s pushed their shutout streak to five games.

The Under-14s closed out a weekend of competitive games with a 0-0 draw against Everton FC Westchester. The Revs controlled the game, taking eight shots, but were unable to find the breakthrough as the U-14s pushed their unbeaten streak to three games, going 1-0-2 in that time. Goalkeeper Connel O’Brien (Rochester, N.H.) made one save on his way to recording his second shutout of the season.
On Sunday, the U-14s played a friendly against Empire United, earning a 4-1 win. Bryce Visnick (Beverly, Mass.) scored twice for the Revs while Aydin Jay (Boxford, Mass.) and Kaoru Fujiwara (Lexington, Mass.) also found the net as New England cruised to a three-goal victory at ForeKicks in Taunton, Mass.
