CURRENT FORM

New England Revolution
2nd in Eastern Conference (18-10-4, 58 pts.)
Last Result | 3-2 win vs. Red Bull New York

The New England Revolution are on a four-game win streak after taking down Red Bull New York 3-2 at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday night. The midweek victory kept the Revs at second in the Eastern Conference standings and secured homefield advantage for Round One of the playoffs. It was the 18th victory for New England, setting a new second-best season record.

The Revolution own the second-most home victories leaguewide and could match the home record of 12 wins with a three-point result on Sunday. New England are in strong form, winning seven of their last nine contests. Much of the Revolution’s success has come from their defensive resolve, with just 44 goals against, the Revs have conceded the third-fewest goals all season.

Inter Miami CF
3rd in Eastern Conference (15-6-11, 56 pts.)
Last Result | 2-2 draw vs. FC Cincinnati

Inter Miami enter Sunday’s match just two points behind the Revolution in the Eastern Conference standings. Powered by a league-leading attack that has scored 75 goals in 32 matches, the Herons have established themselves as one of MLS’s top sides. Miami hosted the Revs earlier this season in a tightly contested 1-1 draw.

Despite their attacking firepower, Miami are winless in their last two outings after drawing FC Cincinnati midweek and falling to Red Bull New York last weekend. With the Revs looking to close their regular season home slate strong, it will be an exciting match between two of the East’s strongest sides.

KEY PLAYERS

Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner
Matt Turner made a combined 14 saves last week across the Revolution’s victorious two-game week. His 134 saves are the most of his career and the second-most among all goalkeepers this season. As the Revs face the league’s strongest attacking side, Turner’s shot-stopping abilities and leadership with be a key factor for New England.

Turner owns six clean sheets this season and is on the verge of setting a new club single-season appearance record for a goalkeeper. With experience at the highest level, Turner’s poise becomes increasingly important as the Revs approach postseason action.

Miami midfielder Lionel Messi
Inter Miami’s attack begins with Lionel Messi. The Argentine star is on pace to claim his second consecutive MLS Golden Boot, leading the league with 25 goals while adding 15 assists for 40 goal contributions this season.

Although Messi has been held scoreless in his last two appearances, his attacking threat remains undeniable. He leads MLS with 176 shots and 73 on target, making him the primary focus as the Revolution look to contain Miami’s potent attack.

HEAR FROM THE REVS

Head coach Marko Mitrović on Inter Miami CF’s potent attack and his assessment Sunday's opponent:
“The last several years, they're very strong in the attack, not just this season. Overall, they have a lot of quality and experience around their team, and I think that with Miami, everybody knows who they are and what their strengths are as a team. We rely on ourselves, we rely on our team effort, and we know that we have to confront them as a team, knowing that we have one of the best teams in the league ahead of us with some amazing individuals. But it's another great opportunity for us to keep growing as a team. And again, those games can just help us to become a better team.”

Matt Turner on his message to the fans ahead of Sunday’s regular season home finale:
“Your support has been great all season. I think the Wednesday night was probably our lowest attendance of the entire season, which was a little disappointing given the form that we're currently in. But the reality is as we look forward to the future, we're going to need every single fan to come out and to support us. We're going to continue to put our best foot forward and hopefully continue to make you guys and all the fans proud of what we are as a team, the product we put out, our togetherness, and how we represent the region.”

Turner on the impact of the team's mentality ahead of the postseason:

“I think we've kind of taken every single game down this stretch as a playoff level atmosphere and playoff level intensity. Every single result really matters down the stretch, for jockeying for position, for keeping your playoff hopes alive, or whatever it is. So, the intensity, we've been up to the task for those really intense moments.”
