NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 9, 2026) – New England Revolution II (11‑4‑6; 42 pts.) captured their eighth straight road result, their fifth match unbeaten, with a 2-1 victory at CT United FC (10-9-2; 34 pts.) on Sunday afternoon at Reese Stadium. MLS NEXT Rising Star of July Matthew Jean Baptiste opened the scoring, while forward/winger Myles Morgan delivered the game-winning goal to become just the fourth player in Revolution II history to reach double-digit goals in a single season.
New England found the lead early, with Jean Baptiste striking the opener in the eighth minute via corner kick. Midfielder Carlos Zambrano, etching his name on the scoresheet for the fifth straight match, floated an in-swinging ball toward Jean Baptiste, whose flicked header ricocheted into the back of the net. Jean Baptiste, also recently named MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 22, has now scored goals in back-to-back matches. The 16‑year‑old forward owns four goals on the season and has produced five goal contributions across his last five appearances (4g, 1a).
Revolution II nearly doubled their lead before halftime through a dangerous free‑kick sequence. Forward/winger Makai Wells, who signed his first professional contract earlier today, started the play by drawing a foul just outside the box. Zambrano curled the ensuing effort toward goal, but it was deflected by CT United's backline. The loose ball bounced around the area before falling to Morgan, who volleyed a driven strike on frame. However, Connecticut's goalkeeper Gunther Rankenburg punched it away, sending New England into the intermission leading 1-0.
After the home side pulled one back in the first minute of the second half, New England wasted no time responding, reclaiming the advantage in the 55th minute through Morgan. Academy graduate Judah Siqueira initiated the play by pushing the ball wide to fellow Academy product Aarin Prajapati, who entered the contest as a second-half substitute. Prajapati curled a pinpoint cross into the box for an unmarked Morgan, who showed no hesitation and ripped a driven finish inside the right post. Morgan recorded his team-best 10th goal of the season, a career high, with his sixth goal in the last nine matches.
In the dying moments of the game, goalkeeper Donovan Parisian delivered late heroics with a full-extension save. CT United uncorked a shot on goal, but the 2025 first-round MLS SuperDraft pick parried it away from the woodwork. Parisian made his 10th start of the campaign in today's win and ended the day with a pair of saves.
Revolution II return home for their second-to-last home contest of the year, hosting Philadelphia Union II at Beirne Stadium on Sunday, August 16. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and will stream on MLSNEXTPro.com and the OneFootball platform.
