RECENT FORM VS. FC DALLAS
The New England Revolution will open their 2022 home slate against FC Dallas on Saturday afternoon. This will be the 49th overall meeting in all competitions between two of MLS’ original 1996 competitors.
The Revs and FC Dallas met once last year at Toyota Stadium, where New England fell 2-1. FC Dallas’ Ricardo Pepi – now with FC Augsburg in Germany – opened the scoring early for the hosts before Gustavo Bou leveled the score before the half. On the other side of halftime, Pepi again put Dallas in front with his second goal of the night to give the Western team all three points.
New England is winless in their last 10 meetings with Dallas in all competitions, including a loss in the U.S. Open Cup Final, falling 4-2 at Toyota Stadium in 2016. However, the Revs do have an overall winning record against FC Dallas, going 23-19-4 in regular season competitions. At Gillette Stadium, New England has gone 12-8-1 over this Texan team. The Revs have not hosted FC Dallas since April 2018 due to the pandemic.
Both New England and Dallas are coming off draws to start out the season. For their first match under the new leadership of head coach Nice Estévez, FC Dallas hosted Toronto FC and they played to a 1-1 draw. FC Dallas’ big offseason acquisition, Paul Arriola, crafted a cross to Jáder Obrian for an opening goal, but Toronto responded right before halftime to level the score.
Meanwhile, the Revs took a lead twice in Portland before finishing 2-2, thanks to goals from Brandon Bye and newcomer Sebastian Lletget – who made his debut for New England in style.
With two teams who will be hungry for their first win of the 2022 campaign, this will be a matchup that you won’t want to miss.

SHOW YOUR COLORS
The Revs will be sporting their new primary kit, “The Liberty,” on Saturday at Gillette Stadium. The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.
The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty.” This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.
