RECENT FORM VS. CHICAGO FIRE FC
History between New England and Chicago dates all the way back to 1998, when the Fire entered MLS as one of the league's first expansion teams. These sides have met three times previously in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, with the Fire advancing in 2005 (Fourth Round) and 2006 (Quarterfinal), but the Revs claiming victory in a Semifinal showdown in 2016. As for regular seasons showdowns, New England is unbeaten in the last 12 meetings with Chicago dating back to 2019, though that stretch does include eight draws (4-0-8).
The Revs reached this stage of the U.S. Open Cup with a 2-1 win over USL Championship side Rhode Island FC in the Round of 32, getting goals from Tomás Chancalay and 17-year-old Cristiano Oliveira (on his first-team debut) to advance past their local foe. This past weekend's 0-0 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes stretched the Revolution's (5-4-3, 18 pts.) league unbeaten streak to six games (4-0-2), while they maintain the best defense in MLS with just 10 goals against through 12 matches.
Chicago used a strong lineup to blow past USL Championship team Detroit City FC, 4-0, in the Open Cup Round of 32, setting up Tuesday night's encounter at Providence College. That result ignited what is now a three-game winning streak in all competitions, including a comprehensive 4-1 road triumph over Charlotte FC this past weekend. Under the guidance of new head coach Gregg Berhalter, the Fire have played an open style, ranking top five in MLS in both goals scored (24) and goals against (24).
The winner of Tuesday night's match will advance to the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals, to be played between July 8-9. Following the midweek tilt, the Revs will head back out on the road for three games in a span of eight days, visiting Sporting Kansas City (May 24), D.C. United (May 28), and CF Montréal (May 31).

SHOW YOUR COLORS
Tuesday night the Revs will wear the "Eastern White Pine" kit, which will serve as the club's Community kit for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Inspired by the Flag of New England on the 250th anniversary of its first use by New England colonies in the Revolutionary War, this is the first time in a decade that the Revs have paid homage to the historic Flag of New England in their kit design. While the Flag of New England has regularly been featured as a minor accent on the club's jerseys, the new kit's design iterates on past tributes by focusing on the Eastern White Pine featured on the flag.
This is the first season-long Revolution uniform to feature Forest Green as the leading color, accented by the club’s Heritage Blue, paired with white shorts and white socks.
