RECENT FORM VS. NEW YORK RED BULLS

It's been more than five months since the Revs and Red Bulls squared off in their first meeting of the season at Gillette Stadium, where a bizarre own goal in the 90th minute sent the Revs to a 1-0 loss. That snapped a string of three straight victories for the Revolution in the series, including their first-ever regular-season triumph at Red Bull Arena on their most recent visit last July, when they claimed a 3-2 win with late goals from Brandon Bye and Adam Buksa.

The Red Bulls are in strong position to reach the postseason for the 13th consecutive year, currently third in the Eastern Conference and nine points clear of the playoff line. They finished August strong on a 3-0-1 run, but began September last weekend with a 2-0 home loss to the Philadelphia Union, dropping their record at Red Bull Arena to 4-6-5, tied with D.C. United for the fewest home wins in all of Major League Soccer. Surprisingly, RBNY's success this season has been based almost entirely on their road form, as they're an MLS-best 9-3-3 away from home.

New England's home form had also taken a hit as they began a three-game homestand with a loss to the LA Galaxy and a draw with Chicago Fire FC, but they rebounded in a big way with a comprehensive 3-0 win over New York City FC this past Sunday night. Jon Bell, Noel Buck, and Tommy McNamara all got on the scoresheet and Djordje Petrović kept his seventh clean sheet in just 16 MLS appearances to lift the Revs to victory, a result that pushed them back above the playoff line in the crowded Eastern Conference.

Saturday's visit to Red Bull Arena is the front half of a two-game road trip for the Revs, who'll also visit the Houston Dynamo next week (Tuesday, Sept. 13) as they continue their quest for a postseason berth.

SHOW YOUR COLORS

The Revs will be sporting their primary kit, “The Liberty.” The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.

The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty”. This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in-keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.

You can purchase “The Liberty” HERE.
