RECENT FORM VS. HOUSTON DYNAMO FC

It's been more than four years since the Revs have visited Houston Dynamo FC and more than three years since they've met at any venue, as their last showdown was all the way back in June 2019 when goals from Antonio Delamea and Teal Bunbury helped the Revs to a 2-1 win in Foxborough. That victory was part of a dominant stretch for New England, who've gone 6-0-1 in their last seven meetings with Houston dating back to 2014, including 2-0-1 on their last three visits to PNC Stadium.

The Dynamo enter the week as the only Western Conference team to have been eliminated from playoff contention, and subsequently the club parted ways with head coach Paulo Nagamura last week after less than a season on the job. Dynamo 2 head coach Kenny Bundy has taken over on an interim basis for the final five games of the campaign, which he began with a 0-0 draw against Sporting Kansas City this past Saturday night. While the Dynamo are just 5-5-5 at PNC Stadium this season, they have picked up four points from their last two home games, including a 2-1 win over current Western Conference leaders Los Angeles FC.

New England's two-game road trip got off to a frustrating start on Saturday night as Tommy McNamara's second-half goal was quickly canceled out in an eventual 2-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls. The result dropped the Revolution's record to 3-5-6 in their last 14 games - including 1-4-3 on the road - as they're now three points below the playoff line in the Eastern Conference with four games remaining. Saturday night's loss did provide a couple of silver linings, however, as DP forward Giacomo Vrioni returned for the first time since July 30 with a brief substitute appearance, and Nacho Gil - younger brother of Revolution captain Carles Gil - made his MLS debut.

Tuesday night's contest will be the Revolution's last interconference matchup of the regular season, as they'll close the schedule against Eastern Conference foes CF Montréal, Atlanta United FC, and Chicago Fire FC.
