RECENT FORM VS. D.C. UNITED
These two MLS originals are closing in on 100 all-time meetings in all competitions, and it has been the Revs who've dominated the series in recent years, winning six straight meetings dating back to the 2020 season and going unbeaten (6-0-3) in nine meetings since Bruce Arena took the helm in May 2019.
New England swept the three-game series last year with a trio of one-goal victories, including a come-from-behind, 3-2 win in the most recent meeting at Audi Field last October, with the DP trio of Adam Buksa, Carles Gil, and Gustavo Bou scoring the goals. The Revs won by that same scoreline in the most recent matchup at Gillette Stadium last August, once again coming from behind in a 3-2 victory in Foxborough.
D.C. (2-4-0, 6 pts.) have had a difficult start to the 2022 season, currently sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. They've lost three of their four home games, including a devastating 3-2 defeat to Austin FC last weekend when they carried a 2-0 lead into the late stages but conceded three times in the final 10 minutes. D.C. responded with a 3-0 win over Flower City Union in a U.S. Open Cup showdown on Tuesday night, but the news soon followed that the club had parted ways with head coach Hernán Losada after a little more than one season.
The Revs have also had their struggles in the early part of the season but returned to winning ways last weekend, snapping their five-game losing streak with a gritty 2-1 win over Charlotte FC on a rainy night in Foxborough. Matt Polster earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Week bench with a one-goal, one-assist performance, setting up Adam Buksa's first league goal of the year before scoring the winner himself in the second half.
With two longstanding rivals aiming to climb the standings in the Eastern Conference, this is a Saturday night showdown that you won't want to miss.

The Revs will be sporting their sleek secondary kits, which take inspiration from the block work of American Revolution Era war forts in the New England area. This kit also pays homage to The Fort - the club's dedicated supporters' sections at Gillette Stadium - and features a fort-inspired blocked white shirt with a monochromatic Revolution logo, white shorts, and sky-blue socks.
