RECENT FORM VS. ATLANTA UNITED FC
After going winless in their first seven meetings with Atlanta United in all competitions (0-5-2), New England finally turned the tables in 2021 and swept the two-game series. Carles Gil was the architect of the Revolution's 2-1 win at Gillette Stadium last May, assisting Brandon Bye's opening goal before scoring the winner from the penalty spot. Gustavo Bou was the lone goal scorer - assisted by Adam Buksa and Wilfrid Kaptoum - when the Revs also won the return leg at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in July.
Atlanta are a side besieged by injuries at the moment, with center back Miles Robinson the latest casualty as the U.S. Men's National Team stalwart ruptured his Achilles tendon last weekend against Chicago. He joins Brad Guzan (Achilles) and Ozzie Alonso (ACL) on the long-term injury list, while Josef Martinez (knee) is out, as well. Still, the Five Stripes have made Mercedes-Benz Stadium a difficult place to play, going 3-0-2 at the venue this season to extend their home unbeaten run to 12 games overall dating back to last year.
The Revs, meanwhile, have found a bit of a groove at home, going 3-0-1 in their last four games at Gillette Stadium to improve to 5-2-1 in Foxborough in all competitions. But they remain in search of their first road win, having gone 0-4-1 on their travels, including four straight losses at Pumas, Charlotte, Miami, and D.C. That's something of an anomaly for a Revolution side that boasted the best road record in club history last season, going 10-3-4 outside Foxborough.
It's still early, but with the 11th-place Revs and 7th-place Atlanta separated by just three points in the Eastern Conference standings, Sunday afternoon's nationally-televised match is an important test for both sides.

The Revs will be sporting their sleek secondary kits, which take inspiration from the block work of American Revolution Era war forts in the New England area. This kit also pays homage to The Fort - the club's dedicated supporters' sections at Gillette Stadium - and features a fort-inspired blocked white shirt with a monochromatic Revolution logo, white shorts, and sky-blue socks.
