FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution played Toronto FC to a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium on Saturday afternoon, improving the club’s record to 1-1-4 on the season. Kelyn Rowe scored his first goal of the season for New England, which climbs into the fourth slot on the Eastern Conference table.
Rowe opened the scoring in the 14^th minute, heading home a precisely timed cross from Je-Vaughn Watson . Rowe’s 23^rdcareer goal moves him into a tie with Imad Baba for tenth on the  club’s all-time scoring list, while Watson and Gershon Koffie – credited with a secondary assist – recorded their first points as Revolution players. The goal also featured an 18-pass buildup from New England.

New England carried a 1-0 lead into the second half, but Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco delivered an equalizer in the 58^th minute. Jozy Altidore reeled in a long ball from Will Johnson and fed his 5’4” teammate, who found the bottom left corner of the net with his right foot.

Still knotted at 1-1 with time winding down, Rowe nearly netted a stoppage-time game winner after Charlie Davies was stripped of the ball inside the scoring area. Rowe scooped up the loose ball, but Toronto FC goalkeeper Clint Irwin turned the chance away. Moments later, Lee Nguyen had a potential game-winning goal disallowed as Femi Hollinger-Janzen was ruled out of bounds as he fed the ball into the box.

The Revs improve to 1-1-4, while Toronto FC improves to 1-2-2. New England remains an unbeaten 1-0-2 at Gillette Stadium this season.

The Revolution will be back in action on Sunday, April 17, when they visit Orlando City SC at the Citrus Bowl. That match, which is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET, will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
