Eight Revolution Academy alums announce college commitments

Youth Teams - Revs vs. Oakwood

FOXBOROUGH, MA. – A pair of Revolution Academy players have committed to perennial powerhouse Virginia, while five players will remain in the New England region, as part of eight commitments during last Wednesday’s NCAA National Signing Day.

Midfielder Max Diamond and forward Aaron James will play collegiately at the University of Virginia. The Cavaliers have won two national championships in the last seven years under head coach George Gelnovatch, most recently in 2014. Virginia’s seven NCAA titles are third-most of any NCAA Division 1 program. Current Rev Chris Tierney starred for the Cavaliers from 2004-07.

Forward Bryant Nardizzi will also head to the Atlantic Coast Conference, where he will play for Kelley Findley at North Carolina State.

Midfielder John Wilkins will remain in the New England region and attend Providence College. In 2014, the Friars advanced to the NCAA College Cup semifinal, where they fell in double overtime, 3-2, to UCLA.

Also remaining in the New England region for their college careers are forward Andrew Barrowman, midfielder Santiago Cardona, goalkeeper Bill Sinibaldi and defender Ben Waithe. Barrowman will attend UMass Amherst, Cardona will attend Dean College, Sinibaldi will attend UMass Lowell and Waithe will attend the University of Rhode Island.
