FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The four New England Revolution Academy teams hit the road over the weekend to face New York Soccer Club on Saturday in MLS NEXT spring season play. New England went 2-0-2 on the day, with the Under-19s and Under-15s each notching victories while the Under-17s and Under-14s picked up one point each with a pair of draws.

Additionally, Revolution II returned to action last week with two home games, dropping a Wednesday night contest to Union Omaha, 1-0, before tying Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, 2-2, on Sunday night. Academy midfielder Joe Buck (2002 – Arlington, Mass.) became the 16^th current or former Academy product to make his professional debut with Revs II on Wednesday. Meanwhile, his younger brother Noel Buck (2005 – Arlington, Mass.) made history on Sunday as the first Revolution Academy youth player to score in a professional match for New England.

All four Academy teams return home next weekend for matches at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, May 23. The U-19s will host Black Rock Northwood while the U-17s, U-15s, and U-14s will take on New York City FC. Revolution II has the weekend off and will return to play closing out a four-match homestand on Friday, May 28 against Fort Lauderdale CF at 5:00 p.m. ET (ESPN+).

Last week, Major League Soccer announced details for the inaugural MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs, which will crown champions in four age groups (U15, U16, U17, and U19). The championship tournament will take place from June 25 – July 3 in Frisco, Texas, as the top 128 teams in the nation will compete for hardware to conclude the inaugural 10-month MLS NEXT season. Designed to replicate the current MLS playoff format, the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs will be a single-elimination tournament with 32 teams in each age group. Revolution II and Alumni Highlights

• Midfielder Noel Buck (2005 – Arlington, Mass.) became the first Academy player to score a goal for Revolution II, netting his first professional tally in Sunday’s draw with Chattanooga. Buck has made four appearances, including two starts, this season for Revolution II.
• Midfielder Joe Buck (2002 – Arlington, Mass.) became the 26^th player, and 16^th current or former Revolution Academy player, to make his professional debut. He played 79 minutes on Wednesday against Union Omaha before being replaced by his brother, Noel.
• Forward Michael Tsicoulias (2002 – Newton, Mass.) made his first start of the 2021 season on Wednesday, playing 57 minutes. Tsicoulias and Noel Buck are the only two Academy players to have appeared in each of Revolution II’s four matches this season.
• Revolution Homegrown Players Justin Rennicks (1999 – So. Hamilton, Mass.) and Damian Rivera (2002 – Cranston, R.I.) started in both matches for Revolution II last week. Rivera set a career high with six shots in Sunday’s draw with Chattanooga.

Revolution MLS NEXT Highlights

• Midfielder Hikaru Fujiwara (2003 – Lexington, Mass.) featured for the U-19s on Saturday and scored an unassisted goal just four minutes into the contest.
• Midfielder Aidan Farwell (2002 – Randolph, Mass.) netted the winner for the U-19s in their victory over New York Soccer Club.
• Goalkeeper Matthew Tibbetts (2004 – Westborough, Mass.) made his second consecutive appearance for the U-17s, stopping two shots in a clean-sheet performance.
• Forward Olger Escobar (2006 – Lynn, Mass.) enjoyed another strong weekend, scoring a goal and adding an assist for the U-15s on Saturday.
• In the U-15s’ win, forward Enzo Goncalves (2006 – Hyannis, Mass.) scored for the third straight match, his 11^th goal of the 2020-21 MLS NEXT season, while midfielder Jaime Kabuusu (2006 – Chestnut Hill, Mass.) factored in with his third assist of the spring.
• Defender Sage Kinner (2007 – Burlington, Vt.) and forward Raphael Alves (2007 – Framingham, Mass.) each found the back of the net for the U-14s. Alves’ goal was his second in as many games.
