CHESTER, Pa. - The New England Revolution are on a three-match win streak after taking down the Philadelphia Union, 2-1, on Saturday night at Subaru Park. The Union had gone 15 games unbeaten before the Revs came to town, snapping their streak and completing a season sweep after defeating Philadelphia by the same scoreline earlier this year at Gillette Stadium.

It was an important three points for New England, who now have just three games remaining in the regular season ahead of the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs. The win brought the Revs to second in the Eastern Conference standings as they prepare to host Red Bull New York on Wednesday night in Foxborough.

Heading into Saturday’s match, New England were preparing to face one of the league’s most in-form teams. It was an opportunity that head coach Marko Mitrović praised as a great challenge to prove the strength of this Revolution squad.

“Philly is one very, very tough opponent. Tough, not just in terms of their strength. And I personally love when we play those games against a tough team, because we are a tough team, as well,” Mitrović said following the match. “For us to grow, we need this type of opponent.”

Defender Ethan Kohler echoed Mitrović’s message after New England kept Philadelphia’s potent attack scoreless for 102 minutes before conceding the Union’s lone goal of the night.

“We knew this was going to be a test, and it was, but I think we’ve shown throughout the season that we’re a team that has no problem with being tested. This is just another example to prove that,” said the center back. “The mentality from everyone going in is that people are ready to fight and to go all in together into the test, into the challenge, and I think we really showed that today.”

The Revolution found the breakthrough just moments before halftime, when Dor Turgeman celebrated his birthday by scoring his 10th goal of the season off a diving header from Peyton Miller, who was set up by Carles Gil. Gil would go on to make it the 19th goal-and-assist performance of his MLS career, with a penalty kick goal in the 91st minute.

After 106 minutes of play, the Revs secured their seventh road win of the season. Their seven away victories are the second-most in club history and are tied for second-best in MLS this season. The three-point result also marked New England’s 17th win of the season.

“This is a tough place to walk away with three points and especially given that they had such a good record going into this. Before this game, we knew who we were as a group, but continuing to have these tight games, where we grind through it as one defensive unit, one offensive unit, it just gives us so much confidence not only going into this final stretch, but also going into playoffs,” said Kohler.

The Revs have just three days to recover before hosting RBNY on Wednesday night, followed by the final home match of the regular season against Inter Miami CF next Sunday.
