FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (3-3-6, 15 pts.) played to a scoreless draw with New York City FC at Gillette Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Goalkeeper Matt Turner registered four saves en route to his fourth shutout of the season.

Midfielder Lee Nguyen, who was re-acquired by New England on Sept. 8 and played 14 minutes at Philadelphia last Saturday, started and played 89 minutes in today’s contest. Nguyen registered 62 touches and one shot in his first appearance at Gillette Stadium as a member of the Revolution since Oct. 15, 2017.

Forward Tajon Buchanan started today’s match after he opened his MLS account last Saturday at Philadelphia. Buchanan paced New England with four shots and three shots on target in his second start of the season.

New England returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23, when the club hosts the Montreal Impact at Gillette Stadium. The match will kick off at 5:00 p.m. ET, and will air on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2, and in Portuguese on WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA.

Lee Nguyen Makes First Home Appearance at Gillette Stadium in Three Years

• Midfielder Lee Nguyen, who was acquired via trade with Inter Miami on Sept. 8, made his first appearance in a Revolution uniform at Gillette Stadium since October 2017.
• Nguyen’s appearance was the 193rd of his Revolution career, which ranks 10th on the club’s all-time games played list.
• Nguyen previously played for New England from 2012-18, and was traded to LAFC in May 2018. He spent two seasons with LAFC and part of this season with Inter Miami CF before his return to New England earlier this month.

Buchanan Shines in Second Start of 2020

• Forward Tajon Buchanan made his second start of the season and first since July 21, logging 78 minutes on the day.
• Buchanan led the team with four shots on the afternoon, including three on target and completed 76 percent of his passes.

Turner Moves Up the Career Saves Leaderboard

• Goalkeeper Matt Turner made four stops en route to his fourth clean sheet of the season.
• Turner now has 206 saves in his Revolution career, tied for fourth-most in club history with Adin Brown. Turner is one save shy of Jeff Causey for third on the club’s all-time saves list.
• With one more shutout, Turner will match his previous single-season career high of five, which he set in 2018 and matched in 2019.

Farrell Leads Defensive Effort

• Defender Andrew Farrell played a big part in New England’s fourth clean sheet of the season, recording a team-high seven clearances, nine possessions gained, and a blocked shot.
• Farrell, who eclipsed 20,000 minutes played in his Revolution career on Sept. 12 at Philadelphia, completed 34 of his 38 passes out of the back in a 90-minute effort.

Revolution Make Four Changes to Starting Lineup

• The Revolution made four changes to the Starting XI as Gustavo Bou, Tajon Buchanan, Scott Caldwell, and Lee Nguyen started in place of Adam Buksa, Cristian Penilla, Matt Polster, and Kelyn Rowe.
• Lee Nguyen made his first appearance at Gillette Stadium since Aug. 3, 2019 with LAFC, and his first home appearance with the Revolution since Oct. 15, 2017 vs. New York City FC, a 2-1 win.
• Tajon Buchanan earned his second start of the season, and sixth in MLS, after scoring his first career MLS goal in the club’s last match on Sept. 12 at Philadelphia. His last start came on July 21 vs. Toronto.
• Midfielder Tommy McNamara made his fifth consecutive appearance, which includes four straight starts, since joining the club on Aug. 17.
