RECAP: Revs kick off two-game road trip with hard-fought 1-1 draw in Chicago

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (6-4-5, 23 pts.) played the Chicago Fire (5-7-3, 18 pts.) to a 1-1 draw at Toyota Park on Saturday evening. Revolution forward Teal Bunbury scored the game-tying goal in the 82nd minute of play. Fire midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger recorded the lone goal scored by the home side in the 63rd minute of the match.


Bunbury's ninth goal of the season matches his career high for goals in a single season, previously achieved in 2011 with Sporting Kansas City. He has scored all nine of his goals in New England's last 12 games, including four in the club's last five matches, and is tied for the third most tallies in MLS this season.


Midfielder Diego Fagundez recorded the assist on Bunbury's game-tying strike. The Revolution Homegrown midfielder joins forward/midfielder Cristian Penilla as the only Revolution players to record at least four goals and four assists this season.


New England will train in Chicago on Sunday before traveling west for a midweek match with the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday, June 13.   • His nine goals currently rank tied for third most among MLS players this season, trailing only Atlanta's Josef Martinez (13) and Columbus' Gyasi Zardes (10).


Fagundez Becomes Second Revolution Player to Reach Four Goals, Four Assists

  • Midfielder Diego Fagundez recorded the assist on Teal Bunbury's 83rd minute game-tying goal. The assist was Fagundez's fourth of the season and the 36th of his career.
  • Fagundez joins forward/midfielder Cristian Penilla (5G, 5A) as the only Revolution players with at least four goals and four assists this season.


Caicedo Registers Best Passing Performance of Revolution Players in 2018

  • Midfielder Luis Caicedo completed 24 of 26 passes in tonight's match, good for a passing accuracy of 92.3 percent. That mark is the highest of any Revolution player who attempted a minimum of 15 passes in a match this season.


Revolution Make No Changes to Starting XI
