CHESTER, Pa. – The New England Revolution (2-7-2, 8 pts.) fell to the Philadelphia Union (6-3-2, 20 pts.), 6-1, at Talen Energy Stadium on Saturday evening. The Union opened the scoring in the 11^th minute, but the Revs leveled the game after Juan Fernando Caicedo scored in the 35^th minute off of an Edgar Castillo assist—his first helper of the season. The Union then scored five second-half goals to down the Revolution.

Forward Juan Fernando Caicedo made his fourth MLS start and scored his third goal in two games. The Colombian striker played 90 minutes, tallied three shots, and is now tied with midfielder Carles Gil with a team-leading three goals. 

Meanwhile, rookie DeJuan Jones made his fifth career MLS start in the midfield, playing 65 minutes. Canadian International and rookie forward Tajon Buchanan made his second MLS start, playing 90 minutes and totaling four shots in tonight’s game. 

New England returns to action this Wednesday, May 8, when it concludes its current three-game road swing against the Chicago Fire at SeatGeek Stadium in the clubs' first of two matchups this season. The match kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and in Portuguese on 1260 AM Nossa Radio.

Juan Fernando Caicedo Continues to Capitalize

• Forward Juan Fernando Caicedo made his fourth MLS start in tonight’s match, playing 90 minutes, and scoring his third goal in two games.
• Caicedo is now tied with midfielder Carles Gil with a team-leading three goals. He made a team-high three key passes in tonight’s loss.
• The Revolution acquired the Colombian forward on loan from Independiente Medellín on Dec. 20, 2018 using Targeted Allocation Money.

Rookies Jones and Buchanan Continue to See Pitch

• Midfielder DeJuan Jones made his fifth MLS start in tonight’s loss in Philadelphia. Jones played 65 minutes, totaling seven duels at Talen Energy Stadium after scoring his first career goal last week in Kansas City.
• Forward Tajon Buchanan made his second MLS start in tonight’s game. The 20-year-old racked up four shots in 90 minutes of play after tallying his first career assist in last week’s draw at Sporting Kansas City.
• Both Buchanan and Jones were drafted with the 9^th and 11^th picks, respectively, in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.

Revs Record 11 First-Half Shots 

• In tonight’s game, the Revolution totaled 11 shots in the first half of play, including Juan Fernando Caicedo’s 35^th-minute strike.
• Eleven shots is tied for the most by any MLS team this year in a game’s opening half, and tied for the second most by a team in any one half this season. 

Revolution Starting XI Sees Two Changes
