RECENT FORM VS. ORLANDO CITY SC
Saturday night's showdown at Exploria Stadium will be the second and final meeting between the Revs and Orlando City this regular season, as the sides played to a 1-1 draw on June 15 at Gillette Stadium. That result stretched the Revolution's unbeaten run in the regular-season series to seven games (3-0-4) dating back to the start of the 2018 season, including draws on their last three trips to Orlando. There was, of course, also a playoff victory for the Revs at Exploria Stadium in the 2020 Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Orlando will be looking to bounce back from a devastating loss to D.C. United this past weekend, having taken a 1-0 lead into stoppage time only to concede in the 91st and 95th minutes to fall, 2-1. The loss stretched Orlando's winless run to four games (0-2-2) in the league, although they did recently claim a 5-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls in a U.S. Open Cup Semifinal just last week, advancing to the final on September 7. Oscar Pareja's side currently sit 5th in the Eastern Conference standings, a position they've maintained despite a 5-6-0 record at home.
Djordje Petrović saved a late penalty from Lorenzo Insigne this past Saturday night to help the Revs to a 0-0 draw with Toronto FC, their second straight scoreless stalemate. It's the Revolution's first back-to-back MLS clean sheets since last July, but also the first time they've been shut out in consecutive games since October 2020. New England's winless run is now six games (0-2-4) dating back to mid-June, but they remain just two points below the playoff line and just three points behind fifth-place Orlando in the crowded Eastern Conference.
With both teams desperate for points as the calendar flips to August, it's another massive Eastern Conference contest on Saturday night at Exploria Stadium.

The Revs will be sporting their sleek secondary kits, which take inspiration from the block work of American Revolution Era war forts in the New England area. This kit also pays homage to The Fort - the club's dedicated supporters' sections at Gillette Stadium - and features a fort-inspired blocked white shirt with a monochromatic Revolution logo, white shorts, and sky-blue socks.
