RECENT FORM VS. CHICAGO FIRE FC
New England and Chicago have spent much of the 2026 season dueling it out in the Eastern Conference standings. Currently, Chicago sits fourth while the Revs have elevated to third in the East. Historically, the two teams have been relatively evenly matched, but have been especially tightly contested in recent years, with the Revs going 2-1-7 in their last 10 meetings – including six straight draws between 2021 and 2024.
The Revolution have had a tough time as visitors in Chicago, claiming just nine wins in their 28-year history together. On the road this season, New England have earned 14 points through 12 games and arrive to Soldier field on the tail of a 2-1 victory at New York City FC. Following their midweek match, the Revs close out a two-game week and four-game road stint in Chicago.
The Fire hosted Inter Miami CF on Wednesday night, ending in a 1-1 draw. It's the fourth consecutive tie for a team that hasn't won since August 19, but also hasn't lost since July. While they've only taken four points from their last four games, Chicago added some firepower to their squad during the FIFA World Cup break, signing legendary striker Robert Lewandowski. Since his arrival, he's scored six goals in nine games.
New England arrive to Soldier Field where the Fire have gone 7-3-1. The Revs have won two of their four-game road trip so far and are looking to end the stretch with another three points. Following the match in Chicago, the Revs will return home to face Orlando City SC on September 19.

The Revolution will sport the "Independence Day" kit on Sunday evening. Released at the start of the 2026 season, it will serve as the team's Club Kit through the 2026-27 campaigns.
Honoring 250 years of American Independence, the kit pays homage to the New England history which helped shape the country. The bold design leans into the themes of celebration, inspired by the classic patriotic bunting and the fireworks displays that have been lighting up New England skies for a quarter Millenium. With the Heritage Tree on the shirtfront and "Est. 1776" on the collar, the kit embodies New England pride.
The Independence Day jersey is paired with navy shorts adorned by three red stripes down each side. The red, white, and blue socks also sport the Revolution seal across the shins.
