FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution forward Adam Buksa has been voted the MLS Player of the Week for Week 32. Buksa led the Revolution to a thrilling come-from-behind draw, 2-2, at Orlando City SC on Saturday night as he tallied twice in the final 10 minutes of the match to help the Supporters’ Shield winners reach the 70-point threshold.

Buksa picked up his brace in only 45 minutes of action as he came on at halftime for Bruce Arena’s side. He cut New England’s deficit in half with a deft left-footed finish on Gustavo Bou’s assist in the 81st minute (WATCH). Buksa then delivered the equalizer in the third minute of stoppage time with a powerful header, delivered by DeJuan Jones (WATCH). In his one half of action, Buksa totaled three shots, raising his Revolution-record total to 105 shots on the season. His 105 attempts and 42 shots on target are both second most in MLS this season.

Buksa is among the most in-form strikers in football at present with eight goals and two assists in his last nine MLS appearances. The Polish international’s two-goal performance on Sunday gives him 16 goals on the season, tied for second most in the race for the MLS Golden Boot. Buksa trails Ola Kamara (17) for the league lead in goals, while he is one tally ahead of Bou for the team lead. Buksa and Bou together comprise the 11th pair of MLS teammates with 15 goals in the same season – a first for the Revolution.

In addition to his MLS dominance, Buksa has enjoyed a breakout year on the international stage. The 25-year-old has scored five goals across five caps with the Poland National Team in UEFA World Cup Qualifiers. He recorded four goals in his first three appearances for Poland, including a hat trick on Sept. 5 vs. San Marino. His five goals are tied for second among all players in UEFA qualifying, one behind Robert Lewandowski for the team lead.

For his MLS career, Buksa now owns 22 goals and five assists over 53 regular season appearances. His 19 goals and assists this season are tied for ninth best in the league. Among all Polish players in MLS history, Buksa’s 22 league goals rank third most all-time behind Piotr Nowak (29 goals, Chicago Fire, 1998-2003), and current Philadelphia Union player Kacper Przybylko (32 goals, 2018-present).

The Supporters’ Shield-winning Revolution will look to break the MLS single-season points record on Wednesday when they host the Colorado Rapids for a 7:00 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium. The match airs locally on WSBK-TV38, myRITV, 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio. CBS Boston’s exclusive pregame coverage begins with “Revolution Kickoff” at 6:30 p.m. on TV38.
